Jason Garwood
Hi everyone! After studying Architecture and Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon, I’ve been spending my time creating tech that helps artists tell stories. Some of which include exciting exhibitions, interactive toys, creative publications, and XR experiences. I use these skills to connect with LGBTQ+ technologists who help make the world a better place!

Musical effects are for everybody! Join this workshop and get hands-on experience assembling and programming your very own guitar pedal using an open-source microcontroller specifically designed for music applications. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to understand how we have created effects, and have the resources available to them to create their own with this platform.
We will begin by understanding how various effects function and then assemble a custom PCB and enclosure for your pedal. After assembly and testing participants can tinker, ask questions, or participate in an improvised jam session. We will provide resources for participants who want to create more effects with code for hacking purposes after the workshop.
There are a limited number of kits available.
